In cooperation with Onyx Path Publishing, we’re proud to announce the upcoming Scarred Lands Player’s Guide, the rebirth of the great fantasy roleplaying game setting created at White Wolf for 3e OGL. Stewart Wieck of Nocturnal Media and Richard Thomas of Onyx Path were both among the primary architects of the Scarred Lands in its first incarnation, and now in this joint venture we seek to fund its return with a project on Kickstarter.
The Scarred Lands fantasy roleplaying setting returns in not just one, but two new forms! More than a decade after the setting was created, we want to share this classic setting with fans of both Pathfinder and 5th Edition by creating two different versions of the new full color, hardcover book, Scarred Lands Player’s Guide, which includes all the rules necessary to play a fantasy game set in the Scarred Lands. The essential setting material is the same in both books, but each book includes the stats and nomenclature of one system or the other. Both versions are also being designed to closely resemble the core books of each of these game systems.
Please take a look at the project, which is live through 7pm CST February 2, 2016. The project offers a number of stretch goals, including free bonus PDFs of the classic Scarred Lands supplements, new material that will be added to the rulebook, and a new short story by Richard Lee Byers, author of the Dead Gods Trilogy. If we can meet all these stretch goals, then even more new material awaits, including the continuation of the scenario we started in Gauntlet of Spiragos, a free adventure for Pathfinder Roleplaying Game (a 5th Edition version is forthcoming).
